Born in Boca Raton, Florida, Rena is forever thankful that when she was only nine years old, she and her family moved to Fairview, North Carolina, a town which places a lot of significance on supporting the local community. Incredibly grateful for the transformative and meaningful years spent near Asheville - a city full of diversity, focused on acceptance, and centered around equity and inclusion - she decided to further her education at UNC Asheville. She is a junior Religious Studies major with a minor in history, hoping to continue her education even more and go into Museum Studies after graduation. Community is very important to Rena, and her position as Exhibits and Global Education Coordinator gives her the opportunity to combine some of her passions: education and important conversation. She is responsible for putting together and hanging up exhibits around campus and communicating with members of the community to utilize the CDE's exhibits for educational programs.
