Charlotte Owens was born and raised in the Queen city, Charlotte North Carolina. She moved to Asheville in 2013 to attend UNC Asheville and fell in love with the city and the school. She is now a Senior working towards her BS in Sociology with a minor in Religious Studies. Charlotte’s previous work experiences a Resident Assistant and Orientation leader helped her develop valuable leadership skills and kept her involved in the growth and development of the community she loves. She is excited to help coordinate local exhibits as the Center for Diversity Education’s Peace Studies Coordinator. After graduating in May, Charlotte hopes to continue with her love of travel and helping others by joining AmeriCorps.
