This seminar will look at the impact that assumptions and stereotypes have on individuals and groups of people from a variety of perspectives. Included will be a presentation by Julia Shuster on the Senti Roma community of Europe and a tour of the exhibit &quot;The Heroic Present&quot;. Yoors was just twelve years old when he left his home in Belgium in search of a group of Roma (gypsies) known as Lovara, who lived on the outskirts of Antwerp. For the next six years, he traveled widely and was informally adopted by a Lovara family.
